La Poste joins forces with the GoodPlanet Foundation chaired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
On Thursday 21 January, La Poste signed a partnership agreement with the GoodPlanet Foundation, created in 2005 by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. This initiative is in line with La Poste's commitment to the environment and is structured around several key milestones in 2021: awareness-raising initiatives, financial support for six agroforestry projects and the contribution of postmen to an artistic project. A natural partnership for two committed players.
This is not the first time that La Poste and Yann Arthus-Bertrand have joined forces. The artist's photos "Vues du ciel", which are no longer presented, have already illustrated several stamps and products of La Poste in recent years. The signing of this partnership is a further step in this long-term collaboration between two committed players.
By forging a genuine partnership with the GoodPlanet Foundation, of which Yann Arthus-Bertrand is the founder and Chairman, La Poste is demonstrating its commitment to social and environmental responsibility to its employees and to the people of France. The aim is to benefit from the Foundation's support in setting up various actions over the year 2021.
In the area of the environment, these include :
- raise awareness of sustainable development issues among La Poste employees with presentations by Yann Arthus-Bertrand as part of the "Vu du Coeur" conference programme, as well as speeches by Foundation experts on climate, biodiversity, the oceans, food, sustainable agriculture, etc.
- to reach out to all French people through the creation of content on key environmental issues, which will be available on La Poste's digital ecosystem;
- to publish products designed to raise awareness of CSR issues, based on photos by Yann Arthus-Bertrand;
- support an agroforestry programme in France with Action Carbone Solidaire. The latter action is in addition to the reforestation programme carried out by La Poste with 6 additional projects to plant more than 4,000 trees and shrubs on a surface area of more than 18 hectares, in association with crop or livestock farming.
Factors involved in a co-signed exhibition project
At the same time, an artistic and collaborative project will be set up, under the aegis of Yann Arthus-Bertrand and with the help of all the factors, in order to create the largest exhibition of portraits of French people. The postmen will be invited to take a photo of a Frenchman they know, with whom they have formed a bond, and to paint his or her character traits based on a few questions. In addition to illustrating La Poste's territorial network and the proximity of postmen to the French, this project should enable thousands of portraits of those who make up today's France to be collected. These portraits, collected by postal workers, will then be used to build an exhibition co-signed by La Poste and Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
As a committed company, we share the values of the GoodPlanet foundation and are proud to join forces today with Yann Arthus-Bertrand in a real partnership that aims to raise awareness of sustainable development among our employees and all French people.
