La Banque Postale ranked 1st world bank in terms of CSR by the Vigeo Eiris agency

La Banque Postale is consolidating its first place in the "Retail and specialised banks" sector (out of 98 banks) and occupies 10th place worldwide (out of 4907 companies) all sectors combined. The Vigeo Eiris agency raised the rating awarded to La Banque Postale for its CSR performance by 2 points to 71 out of 100.

Recognised for nearly 20 years as the leading extra-financial rating organisation, the Vigeo Eiris Group assesses the CSR performance in terms of the environment, social commitment and governance of nearly 5,000 international companies.

 In its annual interim review published at the end of 2020, Vigeo Eiris raised the rating attributed to La Banque Postale by 2 points to 71 out of 100.

The agency's report also includes a rating for ecological transition, which reaches 82 out of 100, and a rating assessing the Bank's carbon footprint, which obtains an "A" on this theme.

 Other rating agencies have recently praised La Banque Postale's performance, including ISS-ESG (B- Prime rating given in September 2020) and CDP (A- rating given in December 2020).

Concrete commitments in favour of sustainable finance

These extra-financial ratings reflect La Banque Postale's commitment to sustainable finance:

  • Having achieved carbon neutrality within its operational scope in 2018, La Banque Postale is committed to achieving a target of zero net emissions by 2040 - 10 years before the deadline set by the Paris Agreement - for all of its banking activities.

  • In accordance with the commitment made in 2018, La Banque Postale Asset Management, a subsidiary of La Banque Postale specialised in asset management, became at the end of 2020 the first generalist asset manager in France to have labelled 100% of its eligible funds with the public SRI label.

  • In addition, La Banque Postale has made a commitment within La BFI to double its outstandings in the financing of energy transition projects by 2023 to €3 billion, excluding any financing of fossil fuel projects.
