Akuo Energy builds one of the largest solar power plants in Ile-de-France
On November 14, 2019, the construction of the "Les Gabots" solar power plant was initiated in Annet-sur-Marne (77), which is one of the largest solar power plants in Ile-de-France. This project was born from the partnership between Akuo Energy, an independent French producer of renewable and distributor of energy, and ECT, a company specializing in the recovery of inert materials from construction sites.
On the one hand, the solar power plant, by setting up on embankments of inert and artificialized land, will give a new utility to this place of 18.5 hectares. On the other hand, it will cover the power of 3,700 households, or nearly 10,000 inhabitants thanks to its 44,000 photovoltaic modules. The municipality of Annet-sur-Marne (3300 inhabitants) will become a positive energy city and this will prevent the emission of 847 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Finally, the plant benefited from the financing of regional funds such as SEM SIPEnR, SDESM ENERGIES, IDF Energies, the town hall of Annet-sur-Marne and the Community of Communes Plaines and Monts de France which contributed to around 50% of the financing needs of the project. Any French citizen can also support“Les Gabots” project via the AkuoCoop platform, by investing their money, they will be the first beneficiaries of the solar power plant.
