The New Climate Plan aims to bring Paris to carbon-neutrality and 100% renewable energies in 2050. Presented to the Paris Council on November 20th, the project was adopted before a public consultation of citizens, the Metropolis, the Region and the State.

The New Paris Climate Plan has very ambitious objectives with a vision for 2050. It offers a constructive action plan for a 2030 deadline as well as an acceleration of actions to be undertaken by 2020 to respond to the emergency of the energy transition. Reaching carbon neutrality in Paris requires two prerequisites : reduce territorial energy consumption by 50% and consume 100% of renewable energies by 2050.

The New Climate Plan offers 500 measures in many areas (building, transport, energy, food, waste, ...) aiming at achieving these objectives. This document plots for the first time in France a pathway towards carbon neutrality for a municipality. It will be presented again to the Paris Council in March 2018 for the final adoption.
