On 18 September 2013, ‘Groupe Point P’ was one of the 80 stakeholders to have signed the new Paris Urban Logistics Charter. Their main objective is to reach a 50% diesel-free delivery rate by 2018.
The issue addressed in this framework document is “the preservation of the Capital City's commercial activities whilst limiting nuisances generated by the delivery and retrieval of merchandise (pollution; noise; street congestion; etc.)”.
One of the new Charter’s main objectives is to reach a 50% delivery rate by clean vehicles within 5 years. The project partners will be using a number of leverages to reach their objective: Creating urban delivery centres in car parks; Electric vehicle charging stations at delivery platforms; Deployment of urban inland ports on the Seine River; and the Construction of “logistics hotels” where logistics and supply chain activities, crafts and services are housed under the same roof.
