CPCU now has an energy mix consisting of 54% renewable and recovery energy.
Thanks to the conversion of the Saint-Ouen boiler room to the biomass, CPCU significantly increases the share of green energy in its heating network and thus meets the ambitions of the Territorial Climate and Energy Plan of the City of Paris and the Ile-de-France region's one. This diversification of its energy mix makes it possible to contribute massively to the reduction of 25% of the CO2 emissions in the capital and to supply heat, mainly renewable, the equivalent of 500 000 housing units and therefore 1/3 of Parisian collective housing.
It also continued its energy transformation and reduced its environmental footprint by converting its 5 production sites to natural gas (Ivry Sur Seine, Bercy, Vaugirard, Grenelle, Kremlin Bicêtre).
CPCU makes it possible to avoid the production of 300 000 tonnes of CO2 per year, of which 250 000 tonnes are due to the introduction of biomass and 50 000 tonnes due to the switch from fuel oil to gas.
