To achieve its objective of carbon neutrality, the City of Paris has chosen to set up an investment fund for the ecological transition. A partnership agreement was signed on July the 18th by Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, and Pierre-René Lemas, Chief Executive of the Caisse des Dépôts Group, with the support of ADEME and the Paris-Europlace association .
The ADEME, partner of the City of Paris on numerous projects and in particular within the framework of its climate plan, will be associated with the governance of the fund and will bring its expertise in the choice of companies to finance alongside the Parisian actors of the Innovation and sustainable development.
The project will benefit from the support of Finance for tomorrow, an initiative of Place de Paris, in which the City of Paris and the Caisse des Dépôts are members, which aims to promote sustainable finance in France and internationally.
This unprecedented legal and financial tool aims to mobilize private financing (investors or companies) to finance the deployment of innovative solutions accelerating the ecological transition in Paris.
