The airline company Lufthansa began deploying its Airbus A320neo outside Germany. So it landed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle on September 1, 2016.
"We are very pleased to see our new A320neo now fly to the first European destinations outside Germany with its energy efficiency and quieter engines," said Heike Birlenbach (Sales Europe Lufthansa Group Vice President). "Reducing the environmental impact of our aircraft is a major objective for the Group and the integration of the A320neo to our fleet is a perfect illustration" she adds.
After Lufthansa "the new engine technology PW1100G JM Pratt & Whitney" offers fuel savings of 20% per passenger compared to comparable models. Furthermore 85 decibels emitted during takeoff of the unit represent only half the sound level produced by a conventional A320. This contributed largely “to active noise protection”.
